Las Virgenes Municipal Water District (LVMWD) has released its 2024 Consumer Confidence Report (CCR), also known as the Water Quality Report (WQR), reaffirming that the drinking water provided to over 70,000 residents meets or exceeds all state and federal water quality regulations.

Each year, LVMWD collects more than 1,200 water samples from across its distribution system and performs over 11,000 tests by highly trained state-certified distribution operators and lab technicians. This data, along with testing from the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (MWD) on imported source water from the Jensen Treatment Plant, ensures transparency, accountability, and public trust.

“Our community deserves to know that the water they drink every day is safe and of the highest quality,” said Darrell Johnson, LVMWD Director of Water Operations. “This report is just one way we deliver on our promise of transparency, safety, and environmental responsibility.”

The 2024 report once again confirms that LVMWD’s water not only meets but often surpasses stringent standards established by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Division of Drinking Water. It also includes information on important topics such as lead and copper testing, PFAS/PFOA monitoring, and ongoing water quality initiatives.

“Our mission is to provide high-quality, cost-effective water service in an environmentally sensitive manner,” Johnson added. “Ensuring our customers have easy access to clear, accurate information about their drinking water is a cornerstone of that mission.”
