Don Patterson is the Assistant General Manager for Las Virgenes Municipal Water District and oversees the External Affairs and Finance & Technology departments. Don was appointed to his current position in January 2025 after serving as the District’s Director of Finance and Administration since 2014. Prior to joining Las Virgenes Municipal Water District, he served for 15 years in the City of Santa Monica, most recently as Assistant Director of Finance. Don earned his BS degree in Sociology and Political Science from the University of California, Riverside and a Master of Public Administration degree from California State University, Northridge. Don currently serves on the Boards of the Association of California Water Agencies and California Asset Manager Program Boards, and the Government Finance Officer Association’s Budget Committee. He has earned his Certified Public Finance Officer (CPFO) certificate from the Government Finance Officers Association, is a Certified California Municipal Treasurer (CCMT), and a Certified Fixed Income Professional (CFIP).
